An East Hawaii man and a woman are facing burglary charges after police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a Pahoa home on Wednesday.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report made by “concerned citizens” about suspicious activity at the home on Oneloa Street, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The citizens reportedly confronted a man and woman that were loading items into a car and then called the police.

At 10:10 a.m., police arrested 31-year-old Naomi R. Fenenbock of Pahoa and 37-year-old Blane A. Gracida of Hilo. The two were taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, detectives charged them both with first-degree burglary and set bail at $25,000 each. They remained at the cellblock until their initial court appearance on Friday.
